Hotel experience that is not only for holidays and weekends, but also for everyday life

Hobo Hotel opened in the heart of Helsinki in 2024.
Its brand concept was created in Stockholm in 2017; the look is cheerful, relaxed, youthful, and colorful. Hotel operator Strawberry talks about the Hobo experience, where hotel rooms, co-working spaces, meeting rooms, a gym, restaurant and bar facilities, music and game nights form a whole that is not only for holidays and weekends, but also for everyday life.

Hobo was created by renovating an old hotel property, saving and respecting what already existed. Changes were made selectively so that interior design solutions in good condition were saved and renovated, and only what needed repairing was done in addition to the basic renovation of the building services. For example, in the light-filled Aleksi 40, which originally served as a bank office, it was decided during the renovation to leave the cleaned concrete surfaces exposed and only protect them from dust. Painting, refurbishing, using textiles, and adding new furniture created a relaxed, worldly look for the spaces in line with the new brand.

The main entrance to the hotel is on Kluuvikatu, and the hotel rooms are located in two adjacent buildings at Kluuvikatu 4 / Aleksanterinkatu 40 – Aleksanterinkatu 42. There are a total of 183 hotel rooms and 40 different room types.
