The original factory area was built in several phases starting from 1845
The old Rettig Tobacco Factory block was converted to the Åbo Akademi University, Sydväst Åbo Campus in Turku through renovation and refurbishment. The original factory area was built in several phases starting from 1845. The four-storey building on the Hämeenkatu side was built in the classicist style in 1920’s, designed by Albert Richardtson.
