Kanttarelli “chanterelle” serves as a gathering place and a performance stage
Kanttarelli is a part of “Saariston Sydän” (Heart of the Archipelago) market square winning entry. The design competition was organized by the city of Turku.
Kanttarelli serves as a gathering place and and a canopy for the small-scale performance stage. The frame consists of plywood supports, a thin steel frame and a glass roof. The lighting has been implemented to emphasize the beautiful, wooden supporters of the cantarelli. The starting points for the design were innovative use of wood, weather resistance and the market’s various events and functions. In terms of materials and design, it perfectly fits the spirit of market pavilions.
